Sources/Uses

Used as an herbicide for turf (usually in combination with other herbicides), plant growth regulator (retards growth of grasses, weeds, shrubs, etc.), and to stimulate growth of pineapple starts; [Reference #1]

Comments

Accounts for 65-70% of the technical product; The two minor components are very close in chemical structure, claimed to be inseparable, and manufactured in a fairly consistent ratio; Hematological effects (decreased erythrocytes, hemoglobin, and hematocrit) seen by week 4 in 24-month feeding study of dogs at the highest dose tested (approximately 94 mg/kg/day); These findings supported by hemosiderin deposits in the liver, although hematological changes not seen in other animal studies; [Reference #1] May cause irritation; [Aldrich MSDS]
